Cozy Gaming Shrine
A Tribute to All my Cozy Games on the Nintendo Switch
Animal Crossing New Horizon
Like many during 2020 we found a great comfort discovering Animal Crossing, a game where we could still move around and "travel", see our friends and get into nice adventures. Which is why Betts (my wife) and I decided to name our island "Adventure" I don't think I'll ever be able to name it anything else. Animal Crossing is the cutest coziest game with cute villagers, the ability to decorate your island, interior decorating with the Happy Home Paradise Extension. Betts and I have really had fun portraying our Island Residents as ourselves. Another one of my super favorite things in Animal Crossing New Horizon is the unique designs made in the portal by so many talented players. I leave you here with some screen shots of our game and some cute tributes
Pokemon: Legend Arceus
Pokemon is loved by so many, but I didn't discover this joy until Legends:Arceus - It was such an amazing, open world, rpg - Final Fantasy feels for me. I didn't know a Pokemon game felt like that. I was never into the cards or any of the other games. I only tried Pokemon Go once and then gave up on it. But this game has my heart. It is cute, has tons of quests, missions, things you can customize yourself with, and of course an awesome pokedex (like whaaaat?) This was the best introduction to the Pokemon world for me and I am ready to get Pokemon Scarlet or Violet (one of them because girl is on a budget right now)
Life is Strange: True Colors
Some people would not really qualify Life is Strange: True Colors as a cozy game because there are some themes of loss, mental health and mystery. But anyone who has indulged in the environment of this particular game knows there is something about hanging out in a super granola queer small Aspen, CO town that just gets to you. It just heals my Lesbian in Plaid heart. I will just leave you with this screen cap to let you know what I mean
Stardew Valley
Listen, I'm not going to pretend like I have the most aesthetically astounding Stardew Valley farm. But it is mine, mod-less because I play in the Switch and I refuse to mod my entire console. I probably chose the wrong map and will never real pass level 6 in the mine - but the farm is my own, my dog Toby waits for me there, Leah married me, I have chickens and cows, and at some point in my life the community center will be done. There is also the total relaxation mode I feel every time Concerned Ape's starting screen pops up. Life is Good, the rest is gravy.
Mario Kart
I need a ton more screen caps from my Mario Kart moments. Needless to say this game is an endorphin rush of fun.
Nintendo Online - NES / Super NES Games
There is something cozy about going retro. Otherwise what would we be doing here in Neocities. The same relaxation I'm getting right now, is the one I feel kicking back and having fun with retro NES games. I will play Mario 1 over and over till the ends of my days. I will pass it again as I did in the 90's...someday.
~Thank you for visiting my personal shrine. I will add more shrine pages as I expand and continue my cozy gaming experience~
